Left slide shows ac 45 code indicating it was made by Walther in 1945, along with a standard P.38 model marking. Original World War II markings include {Reichsadler} view marks on right slide, left barrel, and left locking block. {Eagle/359} waffenamt marks struck twice on right slide and then once on left barrel, right locking block, and left frame. Frame and left slide struck with East German {Sunburst} stamps indicating police use. Barrel punch dot marked on left side. Serial numbers match with numbers roughly applied on barrel and locking block. Magazine is a rough late war production example with serial number 3563 on floorplate. {C&R}

Good. Bore is dirty with firing residues that may clean to Bright with crisp rifling throughout. Metal finish exhibits edgewear overall, muzzle wear, some abrasions, and brown streaks. Some brown flecking on forward slide. Grips have some light scratches. Action functions when cycled by hand.
