Blue and bright finish faded to dark brown patina overall in straight wrist Asian hardwood stock with two barrel bands and mounting sling loops to toe and middle band. Single shot bolt action rifle mounting adjustable ladder rear notch and dovetailed front blade sights with bayonet lug to upper band. Rifle retains intact Imperial Japanese {Chrysanthemum} marking on the rear barrel flat with matching serial numbers on the receiver and barrel, and all remaining numbers mixed. Japanese Kanji markings on the receiver are weak and nearly illegible. Rifle retains its extractor and bolt face, and has the bayonet guide on the left barrel indicative of the Type 18 upgrade. {ANTIQUE}

Good. Bore is Frosty with brown patina throughout and some light pitting. Metal finish is a dark brown patina overall with light to moderate pitting on the forward receiver and rear barrel, with further scattered light pitting along the edges of the stock on barrel. Stock has handling wear, dents, and stains overall with chipping to butt along the edges of the buttplate, and along the upper and lower tang. Action is rough but mechanically functional.
