An early Nazi Party propaganda poster advertising an exhibition about the Sturmabteilung (SA), commonly known as the Brownshirts. Here, a youthful member of the 6th Regiment is threatened by Communist enemies. The Revolutionsmuseum was an early propaganda exhibition space organized by the Nazis in the 1930s. Exhibitions were employed to defame political opponents, propagate historical partisan narratives, and celebrate the Nazi regime. 

The SA, commonly known as the "Brownshirts," were the original Nazi paramilitary militia organized by Hitler. Fundamental to his rise to power in the 1920s and early 1930s, they lost much of their influence after the arrest and execution of their leader Ernst Röhm on the Night of Long Knives in 1934. While superseded in many ways by the SS, the SA continued to exist and officially operated as a training school for the armed forces.
