Full stock percussion fowler, composed of various gun parts. .75 caliber. Barrel length 40 1/8 in. Overall length 57 3/4 in.
The lockplate and hammer are engraved with intricate foliate designs and with a pair of elegant game birds on the lockplate to the rear of the hammer. There is an overall warm patina. Sections of the stock have undergone period repairs.
The gun is stylistically reminiscent of a British Land Pattern "Brown Bess" musket, albeit restocked. Its three brass ramrod pipes were almost certainly recycled from or unused components of a Brown Bess.
