.34 caliber. 44" pinned octagonal barrel. NSN. Blued barrel, brass furniture, smooth full-length hardwood stock with raised cheek rest and crescent iron buttplate. Single shot percussion muzzleloading rifle double set triggers, fixed notch rear sight and dovetailed front sight blade. Unmarked percussion lock with replaced hammer secured by a single screw, appears to have come from a double barrel percussion shotgun. Rifle appears to have been crudely restocked and assembled from parts sometime between the late 19th and mid-20th century. Wood work is not well executed and fit and finish are suspect. Possibly assembled from parts during the Great Depression to keep food on the table. {ANTIQUE}

Fair. Bore dark and rusted with only minute traces of rifling deep in the barrel, effectively smoothbore. Metal moderately oxidized with traces of finish mixed with brown and plum brown patina, showing some scattered surface roughness and light pitting. Lock needs mechanical attention to function correctly. Triggerguard loose and missing the front mounting screw. Wood with moderate wear and several repaired cracks around the mortise area, with scattered bumps, dings and mars in the wood.
