Lithograph studio bust view of Abraham Lincoln. After photo by Anthony Berger, Brady Gallery. New York: H.B. Sons. N.d. Approx. 14 1/2 x 13 in., framed to 18 1/4 x 16 1/4 in.
A lithograph of the well-known "Five Dollar Bill" pose of Abraham Lincoln shot by Anthony Berger (O-92). This portrait became one of the most commonly used images of Abraham Lincoln after his assassination. Depicted in a composed three-quarter view, Lincoln is shown in a dark suit and tie, as well as his signature contemplative and confident gaze. Both would become synonymous with the president after his death.
