Regulation 1851 Pattern officer's waist belt plate and keeper. Cast brass plate with applied wide tongue and traces of original gold gilding. Plate only 3 1/2 x 2 in. WITH Original black patent leather officer's belt rig.

The clearly struck plate retains a legible "E Pluribus Unum" to the eagle's ribband. Complete with two saber straps with drops and the over the shoulder strap, the belt measures approx. 32 x 1 1/2 in. long and is constructed of folded patent leather over a canvas core. One belt loop is fixed and the other is sliding. All of the original brass hardware, including the snap hooks, hanger, oval rings and double-headed studs, are present.

A handsome and authentic Civil War N.C.O. accoutrement.

[Civil War, Union, Confederate]  [Relics, Militaria, Accouterment, Equipment, Uniforms]

The brass elements have taken on a dark patina. The leather is overall crazed but remains pliable.
