Autograph letter signed by J.R. Jarvis to his friend Orvis Howard. [Warren, Massachusetts], 23 February n.y. 3 pages, 8vo. With original envelope with partial red 3-cent stamp and Warren, MA cancel.
An extremely explicit home front letter written by J.R. Jarvis to his friend in New York, Ovis Howard. Part of an ongoing correspondence with similar material, this letter most notably opens with the recipient's name incorporated into a whimsical drawing of an inverted penis with a face illustrating the scrotum. Jarvis writes of home life and "little Sailor Boys." He signs off: "I must go home and get some grub."
A unique letter.
