M1860 cavalry sword. [Clayville, New York]: D.J. Millard. Ricasso obverse stamped: "D J Mill[ard] / C[layville N.Y.]." Ricasso reverse stamped with the inspector stamps of Charles E. Wilson: "US / C.E.W. / 186[illeg.]" with additional stamped "7 / 1". Blade 34 1/2 in. Overall 42 5/16 in.

M1860 Cavalry Sword complete in scabbard by the firm DJ Millard of Clayville, NY. The US Government contracted 10,000 cavalry swords from this firm, representing one of the smallest contracts. A desirable maker.
