Rectangular CSA belt buckle, Atlanta Arsenal style, with original leather belt. Sand-cast brass, with cast hooks. [Atlanta, Georgia]: [Atlanta Arsenal]. Buckle 2 11/16 X 1 7/8 in. Belt length approx. 32 in. Kerksis 299-301; Mullinax 066-081.
A typical "Atlanta Arsenal" style CSA rectangular buckle with large, clear letters, small periods, and thick borders. They were almost certainly manufactured in Atlanta and primarily used in the Western Theater. This is a fine example with very distinct periods. With a pleasing reddish-toned bronze thanks to the high tin content.
