A rare 1888 Benjamin Harrison patriotic presidential campaign pin with a cabinet card portrait of a young boy and his dog, where the boy wears a "Harrison & Morton" campaign hat. Items include: 

 

1. Enameled campaign pin with photographic portrait of Harrison. Original straight pin to reverse. Approx. 3/4 x 1 3/8 in. Pin L. 1 1/2 in. 

 

A patriotic "stars & stripes" shield with a riband reading "1888." A photographic protrait of Benjamin Harrison, on a separate piece of metal, is affixed to the reverse. 

 

2. Full-length portrait of a young boy and his dog. Albumen cabinet card. N.p.: N.p., circa 1887-1888.

 

The young boy, flanked by a rocking horse and his loyal hound, wears a campaign hat emblazoned "Harrison & Morton" on the front crown. 

 

Harrison secured the Republican nomination and successfully campaigned against incumbent Democrat Grover Cleveland.
