Double action solid frame revolver with five-chambered unfluted cylinder, hinged loading gate, pivoting extractor rod under barrel, top strap groove rear sight and blade front sight. "Tranter's Patent" markings on ejector rod and upper left of frame. Top of barrel engraved with the retailer markings "S. GRANT / 67A ST. JAMES'S ST LONDON."

Good to Very Good. Bore partly bright and moderately oxidized with strong rifling. Metal with much of the blued finish intact with some thinning, flaked loss and high edge wear. Cylinder with traces of faded case colored mottling. Markings remain clear and legible. Action needs mechanical attention as the cylinder does not advance, time or index as it should, suggesting a hand or hand spring issue. Grip about fine, remaining mostly crisp with good checkering and showing light wear and some scattered bumps, dings and mars.
