Short-recoil operated striker action autoloading pistol fed by detachable single stack magazines. Right frame struck with the Nagoya Arsenal mark and First Series mark, indicating it was produced by Toriimatsu under Nagoya supervision. 18.2 date mark indicates it was produced in February, 1943. Standard type markings and safety markings on left frame. Item has the enlarged triggerguard and spring magazine retainer of later production Type 14 pistols. Serial numbers match on pistol, including on firing pin and both grip panels, but not magazine. Tip of firing pin has sheared off. {C&R}

Fair to Good. Bore is Very Bright with crisp rifling throughout. Metal finish retains a thinning blue with edgewear overall, some light pitting on the upper edges of the grips, and brown patina on gripstraps. Grips show some handling dents and stains. Tip of the firing pin has sheared off, a common failing to the Type 14. Action functions when cycled by hand.
