4 Bore. 9.125" barrels. SN: 389. Blackened aluminum finish, checkered hardwood grip and forend. Double barrel break action flare pistol for use by the German Navy, with triggerguard spur operating lever, rotating thumb safety and barrel selector switch. Left of frame with German Eagle over "eeu" manufacturer's code (Lieferungsgemeinschaft Westthueringische Werkzeug- u. Metallwarenfabriken GmbH) and the date "43" for 1943. Left of frame also with Kriegsmarine EagleM mark. Top rear of frame marked "Dopple Schuss" with a circled "4" and an {Eagle} on each barrel. Selector switch marks of "L", "R" for left and right barrels. These scarce German naval flare pistols primarily saw use with the U Boat fleets in the North Sea and "East" (Baltic} Sea Fleets. They were made in both Stainless Steel and in aluminum, like this example, to save the steel for more pressing wartime needs. 

Good to Very Good. Bores moderately oxidized and dull. Metal with moderate wear with the finish thinning and worn and with some flaked loss. Markings mostly clear and legible. Mechanically functional action. Grips heavily worn with numerous bumps, dings and mars, chipping and scattered light damage.
