8x22 Nambu. 3.78" barrel. SN: 28109. Blued metal finish with bright barrel mounting checkered black synthetic grips, standard fixed sights, and accompanied by a pigskin holster. Short-recoil operated internal hammer fired autoloading pistol fed by detachable single stack magazines. Right frame shows the {Nagoya Arsenal} stamp followed by the {Chuo Kogyo} manufacturer marking. Both the date marking and the type markings have been ground off. Holster is unmarked with a brass snap. Comes with one serial number matching magazine and one nonmatching. A tag included with this firearm claims that this pistol and holster were captured by Captain John Singlaub of the OSS from a Japanese officer on Hainan Island in 1945. Further the tag suggests this very pistol is shown in a photograph in Singlaub's biography Hazardous Duty. The book shows no close up photographs of such a pistol, and no further provenance accompanies it. {C&R}

Good. Bore is Bright with some residues near muzzle that may clean to Very Bright with crisp rifling throughout. Blued finish displays some light edgewear overall, and muzzle wear. Brown flecking on the gripstraps, upper frame, and breechblock. Grips show handling wear and dents. Holster shows scratches and scuffs. Functions when cycled by hand.
