Short recoil operated toggle locked autoloading pistol fed by detachable magazines. Markings include: DWM initials to toggle link, {Imperial German Eagle} on barrel, right slide, and left breechblock, 1917 date on upper slide, three Gothic letter inspection proofs to right slide, 8,83 bore gauge on barrel, GESICHERT safety marking, GELADEN loaded chamber marking. Serial numbers match to all components including grip panels, firing pin, and magazine base plug. Magazine is nickel plated. {C&R}

Good as Refinished. Bore is dirty with some residues that should clean to Bright or better with crisp rifling throughout. Metal retains a thin blue with edgewear overall, some light pitting along the forward edges of the grips, and brown flecking to all handling surfaces. Some scattered scratches and abrasions. Straw color on small parts faded to gray with some colors remaining on the back of the trigger and on the right side of the magazine catch. Some light pitting below blue on upper slide near inspection stamps and date marking. Grips have some handling wear, dents, and stains. Action functions when cycled by hand.
