Full-length albumen cabinet card studio view of four cowboys. G.E. Ward: Abilene, Texas, n.d. Photographer's imprint printed to mount recto.

Fraternally posed with eyes directed at the photographer’s lens, four cowboys face the camera with a composed demeanor. The young men to the left of the photograph are dressed elegantly in nearly matching suits, while the young men to the right seem slightly exerted from work, and their appearances match. One is dressed in a simple vest while the other’s suit jacket is open; handkerchiefs are draped over their shoulders in fashion with their more worked appearances. All four are dressed in uniformly displayed cowboy boots.

Shot by Gurney E. Ward in Texas, who also operated a studio in Fort Worth, Texas (Mautz 464).

A fine view of four young cowboys from Abilene, Texas.
