Collection of 14 collodion or silver gelatin stereoviews mounted on publisher's heavy curved buff card mounts, with versos bearing the purple rubber stamp imprint: "R. R. Parker, / ALL KINDS OF KODAK WORK. / Gainesville, Texas." Several views feature chalkboards placed directly within the scene identifying the location and date: "Street Scene / Forestburg / June 13, 1906", "Forestburg, June 14, 1906", and "Forest Camp No. 1002 / W.O.W. / June 14, 1906, Forestburg". Forestburg and Cooke/Montague Counties, Texas, June 1906. Each approx. 3 1/2 x 7 in.

A remarkably intimate, unvarnished visual document of turn-of-the-century rural North Texas, recorded during an early summer photographic sweep through the small community of Forestburg (in Montague County, southwest of Gainesville). Produced by local commercial and itinerant cameraman R.R. Parker, who advertised "All kinds of Kodak work" from Gainesville, this grouping avoids generic commercial tourist scenes in favor of community history and portraiture. Highlights of the collection include:

Woodmen of the World Fraternal Gathering: A standout double-exposure group portrait of eleven lodge brothers belonging to Forest Camp No. 1002 of the Woodmen of the World (W.O.W.), posed in broad-brimmed hats and suits with ceremonial axes and a hand-painted blackboard outside a clapboard meeting hall.

Community Gatherings and Picnics: Open-air congregations in Forestburg, including large assemblies of townspeople and women in long white dresses gathered in fields beside horse-drawn buggies, with chalkboard slates noting the events.

Frontier Streetscapes and Homesteads: Dirt-thoroughfare street scenes displaying unpaved roads, early wooden storefronts, domestic homesteads, picket fences, and rail enclosures.

Vernacular Equine and Family Portraits: A woman side-saddle or posing beside a saddled dark draft horse; ladies seated in a one-horse buggy; young children and a youth in Sunday attire posed on front porch steps; and families assembled outside modest frame cabins.

Surviving in substantial number from a single week in June 1906, these candid Parker views form a rare and cohesive photographic time capsule of frontier fraternal culture, family life, and small-town Texas community pride.

Good to very good condition overall. The prints retain strong clarity and warm tones, with occasional light fading, surface silvering, and faint minor scuffs. Several card mounts exhibit honest corner bumping, perimeter edge losses, and handling creases typica of period use.
