Its substantial weight, fixed barrel, vast compensator, and the low reciprocating mass of the bolt carrier were intended to provide buyers with an accurate and soft recoiling pistol with an exceptional trigger. Given the renewed interest in adapting these characteristics in competition pistols today, the Ultramatic might be accused of being both ahead of its time and overly ambitious. The high machining costs and tight tolerances resulted in a handgun that cost over $2,000 dollars in the 1990s. Adjusted for inflation, that puts the cost at upwards of $5,000. Very Good. Bore is Very Bright with crisp rifling throughout. Metal finish shows some operating wear with light edgewear to forward frame and muzzle. Some scattered light scratches. Brown flecking on gripstraps. Dents to rubber grips with some further scratches. Action functions when cycled by hand.
