An exceptional sports artifact consisting of an original single-signed baseball autographed by the legendary New York Yankees icon and Hall of Famer, Joe DiMaggio.

Single-signed baseballs from the Yankee Clipper remain a cornerstone of sports memorabilia collecting. A nine-time World Series champion, three-time American League MVP, and holder of baseball's ultimate unbreakable record - his historic 56-game hitting streak in 1941 - DiMaggio transcended the sport to become a cultural icon. This specific ball stands out for its connection to his team's impressive heritage, featuring a sharp autograph on a period-correct league ball.

The ball features a beautiful, crisp signature from DiMaggio positioned directly across the sweet spot. Executed in blue ink, the autograph displays all of his classic penmanship diagnostics, including the distinct, elongated loops of the capital "J" and "D" and the fluid connection running through his surname.

The ball is a Rawlings Official American League baseball bearing the facsimile signature of League President Dr. Bobby Brown, who served in the role from 1984 to 1994. Bobby Brown was not just a league executive; he was a former teammate of DiMaggio, playing third base alongside him on the powerhouse Yankees championship squads of the late 1940s and early 1950s. This stamping places the production and signing window perfectly within the golden era of DiMaggio's post-career public life.

This lot is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Fleischer’s Auctions guaranteeing the signature’s authenticity and providing for a full refund should it fail authentication by PSA/DNA.

The baseball is in very good vintage condition. The natural leather has aged to an honest cream color, displaying a few scattered spots of light, localized foxing and natural storage toning primarily around the sweet spot and lower panels. The blue ink signature remains sharp, highly legible, and bold.
