Its substantial weight, fixed barrel, vast compensator, and the low reciprocating mass of the bolt carrier were intended to provide buyers with an accurate and soft recoiling pistol with an exceptional trigger. Given the renewed interest in adapting these characteristics in competition pistols today, the Ultramatic might be accused of being both ahead of its time and overly ambitious. The high machining costs and tight tolerances resulted in a handgun that cost over $2,000 dollars in the 1990s. Adjusted for inflation, that puts the cost at upwards of $5,000. Very Good to Excellent. Bore is Minty with sharp rifling throughout. Metal finish with some light edgewear to dustcover and few light scratches. Rear gripstrap rubber is hardening. Grease and oil residues overall. Case with some scuffs and scratches. Manual has some stains and light creasing.
