A legal document transferring ownership of a slave named Peter.
William Clark had sold Peter to William Cox via his "Bill of Sale, duly made and executed 13 March 1833...the said conveyance was made absolute." Now after the death of William Cox, "William Clark hath fully paid and satisfied the amount of $250 and all interest and cost due" to Mary Ann Cox, the executrix for her late husband William, and ownership of Peter has been conveyed to Clark.
Peter is described as "now about twenty eight years of age and a slave for life."
