A fine, bold signature of Henry Lee III, affectionately known as "Light-Horse Harry" in recognition of his brilliant command of cavalry in the Continental Army. A close friend of George Washington, he served as the 9th Governor of Virginia from 1791 to 1794. Notably, he is the father of the noted Confederate General Robert E. Lee.
