Die Woche. [The Week]. 52 issues. Berlin: August Scherl Verlag, 1935-1940. 4to. Original wrappers.

First published in 1899, the illustrated weekly magazine employed new printing technologies, allowing for up-to-date news through pictures and illustrations. Originally focused on popular entertainment, the paper was acquired by the conservative political publisher Hugenberg Press in 1916, promoting Paul von Hindenburg.

While not an explicitly Nazi-supported publication, the issues here commemorate and support the Nazi state, military, and events, including the 1936 Olympics. Several issues feature soldiers or military images, including the 22 March 1939 issue featuring a tank regiment with the title "Die deutsche Waffe bringt den Frieden" [German weapons bring peace].

[World War II, WWII,  FDR, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Dwight D. Eisenhower, Adolf Hitler, Allied, Axis, George S. Patton, Air Force] [Propaganda, Booklets, Pamphlets, Ephemera]
