Contemporary or near-contemporary gilt metal frame.

A nice portrait of a French officer, possibly a colonel based on his gold epaulettes. He is seen wearing a blue and red habit-veste with gold accents and a white cravat. Pinned to his chest is what appears to be a Legion of Honour.
