2. Vol. IX, No. 438, 20 May 1865.
With reporting on Lincoln's assassination and funeral, the cover features three vignettes from the escape and pursuit of John Wilkes Booth and other assassins, including: "Ruins of Garrett's Barn and Out-Houses, Near Port Royal, Where Booth was Shot", "Garrett's House, Where Booth Died", and "Harold's House, Near the Washington Navy-Yard."

4. Frank Leslie's Illustrated Newspaper. Vol. X, no. 245, 4 August 1860.
Featuring a large portrait of five men of the "Savannah Blues of Georgia" after a photograph taken by Mathew Brady. One of the many militia units that proliferated in the antebellum period as tensions rose, the men wear fine dress uniforms with epaulettes and extravagantly plumed shakos bearing their regimental insignia.
