This upcoming sale features an exceptional group of European portrait miniatures from the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic eras. Drawn largely from the collection of Alejandro “Alex” de Quesada, Jr., the catalog also includes works by Cuban-American artists, Civil War–related art, and an eclectic range of decorative antiques. Highlights extend to contemporary jewelry, Montblanc fountain pens, and select works from the Jim Crain Collection, including a signed Ansel Adams photograph of "Half Dome" in Yosemite National Park

Elephant folio (16 x 25 1/2 in.), 100 loose plates as issued with accompanying text in original self-wrappers. Original half black cloth portfolio with ribbon ties.

FIRST EDITION IN ENGLISH, LIMITED EDITION, numbered 129A/2600.

[WITH] Photographic portrait SIGNED by Frank Lloyd Wright. Don Wallace, photographer. 14 x 11 in.

Originally published in 1910-11 in Berlin, Germany, under the title Ausgeführte Bauten und Entwürfe von Frank Lloyd Wright, as a celebratory culmination of the first era of Wright's career in Europe. The work was largely unknown in the United States as the copies slated for American distribution were destroyed in the 1912 Taliesin fire. A single copy survived, from which this edition was produced. The publication was arranged by Wright in discussions with his publisher in 1958, before his death a year later.

Accompanied by a photographic portrait of Wright, inscribed by him to an acquaintance.
