Paramount Pictures, 1944. Style A "The Story of Dr. Wassell," after Dean Cornwall (American 1892-1960), featuring Gary Cooper as Corydon M. Wassell in a pith helmet, standing before a Javanese Buddha sculpture, wounded soldiers, and co-stars Laraine Day and Signe Hasso. 13 3/8 x 21 3/8 in., framed to 14 3/16 x 22 3/16 in.

American release 'Style A' window card for The Story of Dr. Wassell, Cecil B. DeMille’s Technicolor World War II biographical drama starring Gary Cooper in the title role. Features sweeping graphic artwork after famed American illustrator Dean Cornwell (1892–1960), depicting Cooper as Navy doctor Corydon M. Wassell in a pith helmet standing resolute alongside wounded servicemen, a Javanese Buddha sculpture, and his co-stars. Window cards were distributed specifically for display in local store windows and business establishments to promote upcoming screenings, retaining an unprinted top blank border reserved for local theater venues to imprint showtimes and dates. Produced during the height of wartime Hollywood, this piece offers strong cross-market appeal for collectors of classic Cinema Americana, Golden Age illustration art, and World War II home-front ephemera. Produced and directed by Cecil B. DeMille, the film earned an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects and remains a celebrated entry in Cooper's heroic filmography.

Very good. The card appears framed and in good overall condition, exhibiting light age-toning across the unprinted margins and top blank cardstock, with vivid color retention throughout the central illustration field.
