The studio portrait captures two stylishly dressed Victorian women posed on either side of a turned-leg parlor table. One stands in a light coat and dark bustle skirt, while the other sits beside the table in a dark apron dress. Positioned prominently between them on the table is an ornate tabletop  stereoscopic slide viewer, complete with twin raised viewfinders and adjustment hardware.

Portraits depicting Victorian photographic apparatus, especially optical viewing devices like parlor stereoscopes, are exceedingly scarce and offer great crossover appeal for collectors of early photography and scientific optical instruments.

Good. The albumen print exhibits warm sepia tones andf sharp detail, with light overall surface wear. The mount remains solid and flat with square corners and a clean verso mark. Verso with later pencil notations along bottom edge line.
