A beautiful edition of Libbie Custer's (1842-1933) second memoir of her late husband, George Armstrong Custer (1839-1876). Published as a part of Charles L. Webster & Company's Union General memoir collection, the work documents the excursions of Custer and his soldiers in the 7th Cavalry throughout Kansas and Texas after the Civil War. Libbie, who accompanied George through much of his military career, was instrumental in crafting his legacy as a Western hero through this account and her other works.
