Al Machete

Signed to lower left, titled and inscribed to verso
Visible 14 1/2 in. x 22 1/2 in., framed to 16 3/4 in. x 24 3/4 in.
A tightly composed image of hands gripping a machete in one hand and a lime in the other. A third hand grips a handle, perhaps the machete itself, in an exploration of temporality. Executed in rich earth tones with broad strokes that emphasize strength and determination, while the subdued background keeps focus on the physical act. The composition suggests themes of labor, resistance, and enduring resilience.
