Rare South Carolina colonial currency $10 note, with circular vignette showing a drum and flags with the legend "TUTA PEDAMINE VIRTUS" (virtue with a safe foothold). Printed on thick brown paper with the verso typset. £130,000 ($80,000) in Bills of Credit were authorized by the South Carolina General Assembly on 19 October 1776 to be legal tender in South Carolina Currency at the rate of 32s6d for one Spanish milled dollar.
