Single action six shot percussion revolver with octagonal barrel and nonfluted cylinder. Barrel address reads E. WHITNEY/N. HAVEN. Serial numbers match on barrel, cylinder, cylinder pin, loading lever, and both grip panels. Martial inspection stamps include Y initial to barrel, loading lever, and cylinder. B initial to left barrel and twice on cylinder flank. O to frame above takedown pin. Right grip panel struck with the initials I and Z. R to right frame below grips, and P to triggerguard. Good. Bore is frosty with pitting throughout and strong rifling. Metal finish has been buffed at some point with a gray mottled appearance overall, and light pitting to barrel, interior frame, and cylinder. Traces of blue remain on frame below grips. Triggerguard is a caramel patina. Grips have been sanded and show handling wear and some chips and dents on butt. Needs mechanical attention. Action shows good timing but hammer falls sluggishly, possibly due to old lubricants and residues in the action.
