Quarter plate hand-tinted tintype. Full leatherette case.
Impressive tintype image of a Yankee cavalryman armed with a brace of Colt revolvers and a sword. A nicely composed image, the young soldier appears ready to conquer the entire Confederate Army by himself with two revolvers tucked into his belt and his sword unsheathed and ready to swing.
The boldly painted backdrop may offer a clue to his state of origin. The photographer added a subtle blue tint to his pants, which are rolled at the ankle. This is a very nice image that would enhance any Civil War photography collection.
