Patent mark on cylinder reads in a single line PATENTED APRIL 3, 1855 JULY 5, 1859, & DEC 18, 1860. Serial number to interior of right grip panel reads 38925. Assembly numbers mixed. The cylinder pin indent on the rear barrel has been peened along its circumference, likely to tighten the fit after erosion. Ratchet teeth to rear cylinder have been rebuilt and recut. Mainspring replaced. Sideplate screw has been replaced and protrudes from frame. {ANTIQUE}

Fair. Bore is dark with pitting and deep brown patina throughout. Metal finish is a dark brown patina overall with some oxidation forming between the barrel and ejector rod. Tarnish to German silver parts. Some scattered pitting. Grips have been sanded and show chipping on the edges and cracking through right panel. Grip escutcheons have become detached from wood. Frame and barrel hinge with lateral wiggle. Action fails to correctly index on one chamber.
