.44 Cal. 8" barrel. SN: 52200. Blued finish with brass triggerguard mounting two piece walnut grips with topstrap rear notch and cut down front blade sights. Single action six shot percussion revolver with octagonal barrel and solid frame. Barrel address marking has been obliterated, and the grips have been aggressively sanded, removing any cartouches. Martial inspection initials include W in two places on cylinder, once on triggerguard, left loading lever, and to left frame behind recoil shield. A P initial is struck into the left barrel flat.  Serial numbers match on the frame and barrel but the cylinder number reads 7953. Item retains the correct pattern cylinder pin and lever of the New Model Army Remington revolver. {ANTIQUE}

Good. Bore is very dark with oxidation and brown patina throughout, along with scattered pitting. Metal finish is primarily a mottled brown patina with numerous impact marks to the left frame behind cylinder pin head. SIgns of polishing over pitting on left frame. Scattered light pitting and rough spots. Grips chipped on the edges, dented, and stained. Needs mechanical attention. Cylinder stop bolt does not engage, with action only freely spinning the cylinder.
