Cover with manuscript address to Mrs. E.C. Benton, Care of Judge (E.C. Burrit). Lake City, Florida, 13 May [1863]. With Lake City cancel and  "PAID 10" Confederate handstamp  5 5/16 x 3 1/8 in. 

 

ENCLOSED WITH Autograph document signed by Asst. Adjutant General Wilkinson Call to Mrs. E.C. Benton. Headquarters, District E. Florida, Lake City, Florida, 13 May 1863. 1 page, 4to, 7 1/16 x 9 13/16 in.

A very rare cover written from Confederate Florida to Federal-occupied Florida, with an enclosure granting permission to Mrs. Benton "To go into enemy lines via Fernandina."
