Single action five-chamber percussion revolver mounting conical brass front bead and hammer rear notch sights. Markings include Ormsby's Stagecoach Hold-Up roll engraving to cylinder, "COLTS PATENT" on left frame, and a bracketed two-line "ADDRESS SAML COLT / NEW YORK CITY" mark to upper barrel flat. Serial numbers match on gripstrap, frame, barrel, triggerguard, loading lever, arbor pin, cylinder, and wedge pin. Further markings include "L" and "X" to left side of small triggerguard. {ANTIQUE}

Fine. Bore is dark with pitting throughout and strong rifling. Blued finish worn to mottled gray to brown overall with some traces of case colors on interior frame and on loading lever flanks. Grip strap retains some traces of tarnished silver. Varnish finish to grips flaking and worn overall. Cylinder safety notches worn down with three sheared off completely. Action functional, with good timing.
