Sixth plate tintype. Patriotic brass mat with full thermoplastic case.
Crystal-clear portrait of a freckled Yankee sergeant. Perfectly centered on the plate, the photographer captured their subject almost flawlessly. This intense-looking soldier wears the classic blue frock coat that was a signature garment of the Union infantry and shows off two weapons: his officer's sword and a sidearm. The latter is tucked behind a very high-grade patent-leather belt rig. Framed by a patriotic brass "Union and Constitution" mat, this impressive plate is housed in a very nice thermoplastic case.
