A group of two (2) items related to Confederate General Pierre Gustave Toutant-Beauregard (1818-1893), including: 

 

1. Clipped signature of P.G.T. Beauregard ("G.T. Beauregard"), as Adjutant General of the Louisiana State Militia. Louisiana, circa 1879-1884. Undersigned by Oscar Arroyo (1824-1901), as Assistant Secretary of State of Louisiana. With State of Louisiana wafer seal. Approx. 3 1/8 x 7 5/8 in.

 

Starting in 1879, Beauregard would serve as the adjutant general for all the Louisiana state militias, coinciding with Oscar Arroyo's appointment as assistant secretary of state. Arroyo was elected secretary of state in 1884 and served until 1888.
