Barrel with standard one-line "NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA" barrel mark, standard frame markings, cylinder roll engraved with naval engagement scene. All visible numbers match, wedge mismatched. Good. Bore heavily oxidized with pitting and visible rifling. Metal moderately oxidized with a grayish brown patina, and tiny traces of faded finish in protected areas. Metal with scattered freckles of light surface rust and some scattered light pitting. Markings remain mostly clear in the metal with good cylinder scene. Cartouches weak. Mechanically functional action. Grip with wear, showing scattered bumps, dings and mars.
