A cavalry sword by Christopher Roby, one of over 48,000 edged weapons produced for the U.S. Ordnance Department. The blade has a smooth gray tone throughout. The leather washer is present. Parts of the leather wrap have worn away, exposing the wood grip, though the original wire is present. The sword is accompanied by its correct scabbard, attached to which are two of the leather hangers from a sword belt.
