M1860 cavalry sword. [Clayville, New York]: D.J. Millard. Ricasso obverse stamped: "D J Mil[lard / Clayville N.Y.]". Blade 34 3/4 in. Overall 43 1/8 in.
M1860 cavalry sword by the firm DJ Millard. The smooth blade has some modeling noted with light stampings on the ricasso. However, you can clearly see parts of the Millard stamping. The brass guard has a nice dark patina with the original leather and wire grip, rack numbers present. The correct metal scabbard has a dark tone throughout with very minimal light aging.
