A group of three Civil War letters, including:

 

1. Autograph letter signed by Andrew Lambert to son. N.p., 15 July 1864. 2 pages, 4to.

 

A father writes to his son with updates of injuries suffered by his acquaintances: “Joe Boyles was wounded on the fifteenth of June and died the sixteenth about sunrise his wound was from a minnie ball passing through him just below his ribs entering his right side and went through him he died a brave boy. Robert Thomson is dead Calvin’s brother-in-law. Matthew Lambert has got home wounded one leg cut off. Jim Fay? Has got home with one finger left…” 

 

2. Autograph letter. Camp 7th Alabama Cavalry, Gonzalia, Florida, 11 July 1864. 2 pages, 4to. 

 

3. Autograph letter signed by Jesse Huggins to Father. Mississippi, 19 July 1864. 2 pages, small 8vo.
