A group of documents related to John Singleton Mosby. Items include:

1. Sheet with 8 complete signatures of John S. Mosby.

2. Autograph letter signed by Fountain G. Boston to Virginia Miller. Red Hills, Fluvanna Co, [Virginia], n.d. January 1866. 4 pages, 8vo. With original envelope, red 3-cent stamp, postal cancel to verso.

A poetic letter written to Miss Virginia Miller by CSA Veteran Fountain G. Boston. He reminisces of Confederate generals, but most notably knows Colonel John "the Gray Ghost" Mosby the best: "Col. Mosby I have known since I was quite young + no one was more surprised than I at the fame he wond ruing the war. I believe I did have the Honor of seeing + was probably introduced the curious Capt Lee and to say that he sometimes whistles is I suppose a sufficient proof that I have met him."

He also writes of his commander from when he briefly served in the 2nd Virginia Cavalry, General Thomas T. Mumford: "Genl Munford I liked very much, and for the first six months of the war was attached to his regiment, but when it left Centreville for Leesburg I returned home."

3. Autograph letter signed by Robert O Grayson to Virginia Miller. Stevensburg, Culpeper Co., Virginia, 10 March 1873. 3 pages, 8vo. With original envelope, stamp removed, postal cancel to verso.

A lonely hearts letter hoping to visit Miss Miller, he writes: "I have been attached to you ever since I was on Parole in Washington in the year 1863."
