Excavated two-piece "Leech & Rigdon" style belt buckle. Sand-cast brass. Modern white ink inscription to reverse reads "Corinth." 3 7/16 x 2 in. Mullinax 044-045.
Mullinax notes that this unmarked style of plate were issued to Confederate troops in the Western Theater, which corresponds neatly with the "Corinth" dig site attributed to the reverse. Believed to be manufactured by Leech & Rigdon in quantity.
