Half plate hand-tinted tintype three-quarter-length studio portrait. Housed in a full "Wedding Procession" thermoplastic case (Berg 1-10).

A charming and well-composed portrait of two sailors in their regulation navy jumpers. The duo stand before a known painted backdrop of a ship's gunwale, complete with cannons, before an expansive ocean, with a ship visible behind the standing sailor's arm. There is palpable camaraderie between the pair; while the stander wears a cool, stoic expression, the sitter's face betrays a slight smile.
