Two-piece Virginia-style "CS" belt buckle with original leather belt. Sand cast brass. Buckle 3 1/8 x 1 7/8 in. Belt length 26 2/3 in. Kerksis 257; Mullinax 006.
A typical Confederate enlisted man's two-piece tongue and wreath sword belt buckle, still on the original leather belt with suspension hook. The letters feature unusual, accentuated serifs. Typically found in the Virginia theater.
