J.J.M. Woodley is listed on a Tax Assessment from 1866 as living in Moulton, Texas. The Muster Roll Index cards note that he served in the Militia of Lavaca City, 25th Brigade under General W.H. Woodward Additionally, HDS lists J.M. Woodley as a private in Company E of the 14th Texas Infantry, enlisting and mustering in on 1 May 1862. Lawrence T. Jones lists the photographers in Lens on the Texas Frontier as traveling photographers circa 1890.
