34-star U.S. Navy "Union Jack" wool flag. 96 1/2 x 66 3/4 in.

 

A fine Union Jack used by the United States Federal Navy reflecting the 34-star canton used in the American flag adopted with the admission of Kansas in January 1861, remaining in use until 1863, when West Virginia was admitted to the Union.

 

Civil War-era ensigns are extremely scarce.
